Expertise

At 2KG we are extremely good at planning and tracking construction projects with narrow time windows. We have focused on developing project management systems based on Procore Construction Project Management software to track and control the flow of information associated with executing a project. Utilizing this cloud based software, any project team member, including the owner and engineer, can quickly record, analyze and report any and all of the documents required to manage a project. 

Remodeling projects are 2KG’s sweet spot. We have developed extensive problem resolution skills as a result of participating in many remodel projects on older buildings that have poor historical documentation. We are proactive in our approach and respond to complications effectively in order to deliver each job on time and budget. 

2KG engages all of the project’s participants to commit to an accelerated schedule while still controlling all of the other variables of the project. 2KG’s systems, methods and seasoned personnel allow projects to be thoroughly planned, organized and controlled to ensure success even when projects have the additional stress of limited time.

2KG employs a diversely skilled, professional crew that regularly self performs site-work, concrete, carpentry, steel and metal building erection, and finish carpentry. Utilizing our fleet of equipment, we self-perform all aspects of excavation, site utilities, concrete foundations, building shells, and finish work, for new construction as well as remodels. No matter the project, we get our hands dirty.

Owning both large and small equipment allows 2KG to control and drive the project schedule. 2KG owns heavy construction aids such as crane pads, ultra blocks for shoring, and metal and wood cribbing and staging. We can also perform off-site work at the 2KG warehouse attached to our headquarters.

2KG is affiliated with several industry agencies. The Associated General Contractors of America (AGC) serves our nation’s construction professionals by promoting the skill, integrity and responsibility of those who build America. 2KG has been member of AGC since our inception. 2KG also proudly supports the Northwest College of Construction (NWCC) through the use of their apprenticeship program. The NWCC is a privately funded, non-profit educational facility, designed to educate and train crafts for the construction industry.

We take the safety of our employees, jobsites and clients very seriously. Our Safety Committee heads up 2KG’s robust safety training program. We train and certify all personnel for company owned equipment and require personal protective equipment within the project site limits.

The Safety Committee does regular safety inspections on every project with our project team and all subcontractors. We fence, sign, barricade and take the necessary precautions to communicate the hazards of the construction site to the workers and the public. 2KG also completes job hazard analysis plans during preconstruction for tasks that require elevated safety awareness. 

2KG’s EMR is as follows: .86 for 2011; .76 for 2010; and .84 for 2009. 2KG has a written drug and alcohol program that meets or exceeds Oregon requirements.
